Since 1986 Alexandra Schatz has developed and produced over 150 animated short films, series, TV Specials and features for the children's TV programmes of ARD and ZDF. Many productions have been nominated for PRIX JEUNESSE or have been awarded: "Friedrich-Wilhelm-Shortfilm Award", "Goldener Spatz", first Prize at Tokyo Children's Film Festival, "Magnolia Award" at Shanghai TV Festival or "Golden Goblet" at International Shanghai Film Festival. Since 2005 most productions were coproduced with International partners in U.K., Sweden, Switzerland, Italy and The Netherlands.

Best Birthday Ever
While Karlchen (Little Charlie) was expecting his birthday celebration, his little sister Clara becomes ill and the parents need to take her to the doctor. Karlchen is disappointed and thinks that Clara has spoiled his birthday. When the parents are away he decides to leave his home and move to Grandma to stay there forever. On his way to Grandma he gets lost in the forest and an exciting adventure begins...
