Balance Film GmbH was founded in 1993 as an independent film production company in Dresden.

The focus of our activities is the development and production of animation and documentary films for cinema and television.

In animated film production we use in-house productions with refreshing and extraordinary graphics as well as special animation techniques.

Since several years, our team has been developing series concepts, producing and co-funding cartoon series for TV, and offering expert advice and services in all aspects of 2D animation: character design, storyboard, animatics, animation and compositing.

Fritzi - A revolutionary tale

September 1989 in the GDR. The general mood in the country also changes the life of 12-year-old Fritzi. Her best friend Sophie has fled with her mother to West Germany via Hungary, and the only thing Fritzi has left is Sophie's little dog Sputnik. Her friend had left him in Fritzi's care. But Fritzi misses Sophie just as much as the little four-legged friend. So she decides to take Sputnik to Sophie. But to get there, there is only one way: across the strictly guarded border. A very dangerous adventure for a 12-year-old girl and a small dog ...

The Crossing

Kyona and her brother Adriel are almost children when one summer their village of Novi Varna is devastated and set on fire by farmers from the surrounding area. From now on, they are threatened with persecution and their older siblings are wanted by the police. The family has no choice but to leave Novi Varna. The parents decide to cross the continent to reach a cousin in the Free States. They set off on foot, laden with bundles and surrounded by their children.

Mister Paper
