Blaue Pampelmuse is a Leipzig-based animation studio founded by Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg alumni Carol Ratajczak and Eliza Plocieniak-Alvarez, creator of the TV series “Kito & Maja” and “Nitso and the Very Hairy Alphabet”, as well as the award-winning short film “My Name is Fear” (Ottawa, Monstra, among others). We specialize in concept development and visual design. With national and international projects, we focus on quality storytelling for children and seamless integration of direction, design, and production through strong creative partnerships.

Kito & Maja
When siblings Kito (4) and Maja (6) visit their Grandma Dora’s creaky old house, they stumble upon a mysterious wooden box in the attic. Inside, they find glowing dream globes that each unlocks a Sorbian legend, transporting them—and the audience—into the heart of Lusatia’s mythical tales.
As they explore the dream globes, the siblings transform into key characters of each legend: the Money-Bringing Dragon, Pumphut the Wizard, the Midday Woman, and many more.

My Name is Fear
A short film about one of the strongest emotions – fear.
In this warm and playful animation, Fear introduces itself to young viewers — not as something scary, but as a feeling we all have. MY NAME IS FEAR helps children see that being afraid is normal — and sometimes even helpful.
This short is the first in a planned animated series for preschoolers, each episode exploring a different emotion to build emotional awareness and resilience.
