House of the Dragon, Season 2
In "House of the Dragon" Season 2, with King Aegon II on the Iron Throne and Queen Rhaenyra plotting her vengeance from Dragonstone, the Targaryen dynasty is fractured, and the noble houses of the Seven Kingdoms must choose sides, leading to a bloody conflict and a Westeros forever changed.
Our VFX work
Pixomondo (PXO) continued its collaboration with HBO across all eight episodes of the second season of House of the Dragon. With a comprehensive, industry-leading approach, PXO contributed not only final visual effects during post-production but also previsualization during pre-production, along with technical setup and virtual production supervision for key sequences during production itself.
PXO created breathtaking environments that fully immersed audiences in George R.R. Martin’s fantastical world. Highlights included the windswept Dragonstone island with its majestic castle, the intricate interior of the Grand Septa, the battle-scarred landscape around Rook’s Rest, the bustling Dry Docks of Driftmark, and the soaring heights of the Eyrie in the Vale.
As the main dragon vendor for the season, PXO brought to life some of the series’ most iconic dragons, including Sunfyre, Meleys, Vhagar, Tessarion, Syrax, the mysterious wild dragon, and the dragon hatchling Stormcloud. PXO also returned to their roots by reviving the three original baby dragons first seen in Game of Thrones, delivering unforgettable moments of awe and wonder.

Woodwalkers
At first glance, Carag looks like an ordinary boy, but behind his bright eyes lies an incredible secret: Carag is a shapeshifter. He grew up in the wilderness as a puma and now lives in his human form in the world of people. It's only when Carag is accepted into Clearwater High, a secret boarding school for Woodwalkers like him, that he feels a sense of belonging. He quickly finds friends in Holly, a cheeky red squirrel, and Brandon, a shy bison.
Our VFX work
PXO continued its decade-long partnership with blue eyes Fiction as the lead VFX house on the film, ensuring a cohesive visual identity across all the VFX work, guiding the film from early concept development to on-set supervision and final execution. A key challenge was creating photo-realistic animals, seamlessly blending real and digital creatures while capturing authentic animal behaviour. PXO tackled this with a combination of technical innovation and artistic expertise, ensuring lifelike appearances and dynamic performances that make every transformation feel authentic, immersive, and emotionally resonant.
