Nerdy dinosaur boy Dinomite has the strangest pet of all: a wild, club-wielding cave girl called Lucy. Always eager to solve the problems for their friends and community with rather unorthodox ideas and inventions, they often wreak havok in their hometown of Fernham. Extremely eccentric neighbours, small-brained giant dinosaurs and a carnivorous plant with an appetite for Lucy add to the chaos.

Dr. Brumm is carefree, naive and full of great ideas. One moment everything seems peaceful, then the tables turn and things no longer want to do what Dr. Brumm would like them to. But just like Dr. Brumm and his friends, the audience can always retain their astoundment. Amazement instead of freaking out when something doesn't work out as it should. In the series, problems are not something to fight against, but invitations to take a fresh look at the situation and then playfully solve it.
